Here at Disintegration State we wanted to do something collaborative to mark Cassette Store Day, rather than simply produce a straight-up compilation.
We got chatting to a friend of the label, Wiggy, who primarily creates music under the name Mischevious Wisdom to accompany spoken word, like his work with Julie G Wordist (www.facebook.com/pg/juliegwordist/videos). But by his own admission never gets around to finishing his own instrumentals.
He pulled together a few he liked and shared the audio stems with the Disintegration State artists, who promptly got to work sampling, mangling, warping and reshaping Wiggy's originals into something new.
Ranging from shimmering techno, to oppressive ambience and dense, processed, broken post-punk, what you have here are the results. We hope you find something to enjoy.
